3 Year Anniversary!

I can't believe it has been 3 years since my hubby Ryan and I got married!  I feel like it was just the other day we had our first date!  This year, we are celebrating by taking a "staycation" for the rest of the week!  I think both of us are in dyer need of some rest and relaxation.  We are  going to visit and do all the little things we never have time to do together.  It's funny how you live in the same place for years and never make time to visit any of the hot spots or attractions.  So, that is just what we are going to do!

I figured since this is the month of "love" for us!  I'm going to write a couple different entries sharing our wedding photos and how we met, and some other goodies!  Today I'm going to celebrate by posting pictures from our wedding ceremony!  The most important logistical thing to me at my wedding (besides getting married to my bestfriend!) was having a good photographer!  We totally lucked out by finding a new photographer in the area that gave us several free perks to promote herself!  There was so many pictures to choose from but here are just some of my favorites!

It's funny how much work goes into an event that goes by so fast!  I will be the first to admit that when it came to wedding planning I was a bit crazy perfectionist. But, for me that is how the job gets done!  I was very fortunate that Ryan wanted to be just as involved as I was!wedding
The wedding turned out perfectly and they all seem to do once the day is over!  It's funny, right up until our wedding day, I had a million worries about our special day! What will we do if it rains! It did in the morning but luckily the sun came out right in time! What if someone shows up who didn't RSVP! There was that too but they must have figured it out for themselves. What if our limo driver gets lost from the ceremony to the reception? Well I didn't exactly worry about that but it did happen and we still made it on time to the reception!  But, an uncharacteristic thing happened to me on our wedding day, I relaxed and left all my worries behind.  You only have one wedding (hopefully!) and I wanted to make the most of it and I did!

Are there any other June wedding anniversaries out there?!
What was your most important element of your wedding?

Summer Kickoff Virtual 5k Race

The great and wonderful Kristine from Heart Shaped Sweat organized a "Summer Kickoff Virtual 5k"!  I seriously owe Kristine big time for this!  This whole virtual 5k announcement she made last month seriously helped to get my butt of that couch!  What a great idea and perfect timing!  As you know, I've been finally getting back into being active this past month and this challenge couldn't have come at a better timing!  I don't know about you, but warmer weather always motivates me to workout and be fit!  This is my 3rd 5k of the year but the first one I decided to walk instead of running.

I was doing really well with keeping up on running and just 2 months ago received my fastest 5k time ever (28:56)!! But, since I love switching up my workouts, I've recently been focusing my efforts into hiking, biking, walking, AND my new challenge this month (Blogilates) so I figured I'd stick with my plan and walk this 5k! I'm always amazed to see how walking can make me more sore than running! How is that?!

I was pretty happy with my time but I have to admit-- I missed the rush I get from running 5k's.  I have a feeling I'll be signing up for another one soon OR just maybe, Kristine will have host another virtual 5k.

Another reason why I love races is having my favorite partner in crime by my side: my hubby. I absolutely love that we have so many of the same interests and enjoy being active together! It really does make a difference! We hold each other accountable and motivate each other to go farther. Plus, we are both a little competitive so that always makes it fun and pushes me to run/walk faster so I can kick his butt!

And... if you like the shirt I'm sporting-- you need to get your butt to Old Navy!  I paid a visit there the other day and couldn't get over the sale they had on active wear! Here's what I scored (and yes, I am bragging!):

Top: $8//Sports Bra: $8//Shoes: $6

If you're like me and hate actually spending the money to buy sports bra's and other active wear, etc; you might just want to check this out! P.s. I hope you enjoyed the photo bomb as much as I did!

I love how I feel once I start getting into a workout routine!  Have exercises or routines are working for you?
Do you know of any active wear sales or stores that have reasonable prices?  I'd love to create a list and share!

Let's get Physical... Physical!

Fitness Updates and a NEW FREE workout suggestion (oh my)!
Tomorrow I'll be sharing my virtual 5k experience but until then...

Life in the "health" lane (I'm so sorry for being corny all the time) has been going. We have kept up our "30 Minutes, 6 Days a Week" this week but the majority of it was walking. That is definitely better than nothing but I wish I would have done more! We did however make it out for another bike ride this past weekend. This past week, I took advantage of the whole "walking" option and don't feel like I really pushed myself.

So, when I saw a friend of mine suggest a beginners workout series that was FREE... I was all in! She has had great results and am ready to give it a try myself! If you haven't heard of Blogilates and looking for a new challenge, you should check this out! Every workout is a video you can follow along with on YouTube and her calendar is designed for beginner's like me! I just started this yesterday and can't wait to see how this goes!

One last workout update: Does anyone else have an obsession with biking? We've just got back into it this year! Speaking of biking... Sometimes when my husband and I get on a idea, we go full force. Last weekend we pulled out our hybrid bikes and went for a nice ride. Great, right? Well, as everyone was passing us by on their fancy rode bikes, we decided we needed fancy road bikes too! So, we've already went to a bike shop to price it out! Road bikes here we come! We want to be "serious" bike riders and go on tours!

How did you do with your fitness goals this past week? Have you ever given Blogilates a chance? Has anyone else switched from hybrid to road bikes?
